Pollution- proportional to Overpopulation

What is pollution? We all know that it is the contamination of the surroundings(air, water, land, sound).

So how do our surroundings get polluted? Pollution can be man made or natural. Let's use some general incidents which will help us to answer this question.

Well, when we step out of our house in the morning, we often find motor vehicles moving in the streets, honking. The suspended waste materials or the pollutants emitted by these vehicles are a source of air pollution. Other sources of man made air pollution are- burning wood and fossil fuel, smoke from the factories, foul smell and gases emitted from garbage littered outside the dustbins etc.

In the roads of busy cities often our ears get disturbed with the undesirable sounds known as Noise. Noise above 80 decibels is intolerable to our ears and is painful. Honking, watching television and listening to music in large volumes, mahines used in factory sites etc are some examples of noise pollution which we encounter in our daily lives.

The chemicals and fertilisers used by farmers for production of a better yield can become a source of water and soil pollution. The fertilisers and other chemicals given to the crops, seep into the soil and loses the fertility of the soil. During rains these chemicals are washed by and are deposited in the water bodies thereby polluting them.

These are some of the examples which show us that human intervention in the surrounding is polluting it. Human activities are not only affecting the environment but are also harming the habitat and lives of many organisms and animals. Global Warming caused by the green house effect( increase in the carbon dioxide level because of human intervention) is melting the glaciers so that the animals living in the polar region are finding it difficult in living there. Pollution of water bodies by chemicals are harming the organisms living in them. These chemicals make it suitable for algae to grow in them which decrease the biological oxygen demand of the other living organisms living in those water bodies. The above examples are a result of human intervention. Now in this present generation when the world's population is increasing, naturally their demands are also increasing. So what is the result going to be? probabilities are - more global warming that even air conditioners would be unable to keep us cool, increase cases of natural phenomena and disasters. Now that we know what are the consequences going to be ,so why not take action. I know that many activities are been taken to save our environment but an active participation by everyone is required because then only we can be successful in making a pollution free earth.

Population leading to marginalization

Population is leading to marginalization, but how?

Population is leading to marginalization. It’s leading to marginalization because of various reasons. The main reason is that of demand of people. People demands are of more food, more and better furniture, more electronics and many other things.
For the benefit of Indian and to lift all Indians out of poverty, government has increased wages and salaries of every job of people. And as the government is achieving success in their aim of lifting all Indians out of poverty, economic conditions of each and individual Indians have developed.

Now all the Indians are capable of buying goods foods and their daily requirements. But still there are people who are below poverty line.

As the people’s demands increases, market prices also increases. So, as a result the person whose economic condition is good is able to afford buying those goods and the people who are below poverty line are being deprived of those goods. In such a situation, those people who are below poverty line are being marginalized, as they are not getting to enjoy all the things that are enjoyed by the rich persons, and are feeling deprived of those facilities.

Another reason is that though the people are rich, but enough proper food is not available to all of those people. The persons who reach first in the market get the best food. While the persons who reach the market last, only the left out foods are available for them.

This is the present situation.
What will be the situation after a few years?????????

The Present Job Scenario

Gone are the days when people took interest in jobs such as farming, business, medicine, engineering etc. Now we hardly get to hear such terms. Instead people are taking more interest in fields such as- Information Technology, Research and Development and Nanotechnology. Even in the field of medicine we do not simply hear people becoming a cardiologist or nephrologist, we hear them taking up jobs which were not commonly heard previously like interventional radiotherapists, Navigational surgery, robotic surgery etc.

If someone is interested in sports and at the same in medicine ,then he can pursue a carrier in sports medicine such as Kinesiotherapists or Biomechanists. Now in this present generation every job sector has open up multidisciplinary opportunities.

The world of work is enormously diverse but still the number of jobs available is limited. This has lead to the unemployment of many people. And after the recession, the economic slowdown has made everyone tizzy. The slowdown has shaken the professionals as lot of companies are downsizing their employees. With the growing population the need of expanding the job pattern has enhanced the present job sectors.

Population explotion has also become a reason for unemployment. There are so many people ready with their degrees. Millions of people are still jobless inspite of having qualifying degrees. This is a major problem since it affects the unemployed individuals as well as their socio-economis status. It also affects the country's economy. Unemployed individuals are unable to earn money to meet financial obligations. An economy with high unemployment is not using all of the resources, specifically labour, available to it. In extreme cases high levels of unemployment can be causes of civil unrest, in some cases leading to revolution, and particularly totalitarianism.

Many steps are been taken to improvise situations as such. But who knows what is going to happen in the distant future.

HOW MUCH IS YOUR SHARE OF LAND??

To calculate this we need to know some figures about the Earth. It has a surface area of 51 billion ha of which 36.3 billion ha is sea and 14.7 billion ha is land. Of the total land area only 8.3 billion ha is biologically productive. The remaining is either covered by ice or has unsuitable soils or lack of water.
Considering the current human population and the total land area there comes less than 2 ha of land per person. This is the per capita ecological capacity of the world as such. It will vary from country to country depending on the population and the goegraphical area of that country. Do not forget that while calculating this figure we have not left any land for the use of other animal and plant species existing on this Earth. JUST THINK!!!

A WORLD THROUGH MY EYES.

In future, when there will be not enough water availabe for the large
population then water toffees will be used to provide water to the
people in shops, railway stations, airports, etc.

One day the babies will have to think whether they should come to the Earth
or not. Will there be any resources available for their survival???

EXACT COPIES:-)

Just imagine- one day you wake up from your sleep and see yourself sleeping next to you- some of you might think that it'd be cool and some might get chills....
So this is what my article's about-CLONES:-)
Cloning is the production of an exact copy of any organism, a part of it or a cell. To maKe it much easier for you to understand let's take it this way- when a student cheats from his friend's answersheet in the exam, his answer's are a perfect match of his friend's.
SO CLONING IS - MAKING EXACT COPIES....
Now, the world has developed so much with the world's geniuses working out the solution to any problem or question, that everything is possible.

Coming back to the topic of cloning, till now cloning of animals has been possible. On 5th July 1996, Dolly the first mammal to be cloned was born. She was a clone of a Finn Dorsett sheep. She was cloned by Ian Wlmut and his colleagues at the Roslin Institute in Edinburgh, Scottland.

A cell was collected from the mammary gland of a female Finn Dorsett. Simultaneously, an egg was obtained from a Scottish Blackface Ewe. The nucleus was removed from the egg and the cell was inserted. Then the egg was implanted into the Scottish Blackface Ewe. Development of this followed and Dolly was born.

Now, if anyone of you pet lovers cannot bear to part from your dear pets(after their deaths) then you can easily opt for cloning of your pet . This way your beloved pets would be on your side forever and always.

Cloning humans, it is not yet possible ,but all the ones who want to clone yourselves or any of your beloved ones don't be disheartened because in this world NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. I AM SURE THAT IN THE COMING YEARS PREPARING CLONES OF HUMANS WOULD BE 100% POSSIBLE...

Who knows after five years or so you might be found hanging around with your CLONE!!! :-)

POPULATION AND WILDLIFE.

The world population is growing by more than 90 million per year, of which 93% is in developing countries. In the past, population growth was slow but in the recent past it has becoming alarming. So, the Earth is becoming small for the large population. The growing population is also affecting the environment and wildlife to a large extent. With the urban expansions all types of vegetation becomes the first victims and the wild life is exposed to various threats. Human beings procure the forest land for building houses, industries and agriculture. By doing this, humans affect the wildlife found in that area. The ecological balances gets disturbed. It creates many difficulties for the animals. They go out to the cities in search of food. There are many instances when these displaced creatures conflict with the human settlements. Many animals and birds die. Like this, many animals and bird species became extinct. The wildlife is very important us. The wildlife is like jewellary of the Earth. It decorates the Earth with its beauty. If we don't handle it with love and care then it will vanish from our Earth. If every individual becomes eco-conscious, the burden on Earth will reduce tremendously and we all will have a good time ahead.

21st century,years of junk food

21st century is the world of rapid modernisation. Both young and adults are all entirely wrapped up with their jobs and carriers. People are so busy in this fast competitive world that they have no time for home cooking and prefer readymade junk food.
Be it for the young or for the old, junk food is bad for all- it takes away the zero size figures. tanned bodies, shiny hair and clear skins from the youngsters and leaves the oldies with weak bodies and bad teeth.
Eating fast food in moderation is acceptable but eating vegetables and fresh food should always be one's no. 1 priority in life no matter how busy he/she may be because at the end of the day no one wishes to spend their precious time sitting around in a hospital.
WE LIVE LIFE FOR ONCE!!!! so we must look after it and try to make it JUNK FREE and HEALTHY.
But i think that this 21st century is going to debunk the popular myth of health hazard of junk food. Great minds have started to think about inventions annd discoveries on tasty ready-to- make and ofcourse healthy alternative to junk food. Besides that ,other fascinating things that has been done, is the invention of the "ARTIFICIAL LIVER" by "Kennith Matsumura" and "Alin foundation" and the " ARTIFICIAL HEART" i.e the ABIOCOR HEART.
Now people can have as much as junk food without having any worries . Even if their heart stops pumping and liver stops functioning then still they'll have their artificialheart and liver to survive with. isn't that great!!!!
The inventions of the 21st century will no doubt will continue to give us things that we need in order to thrive. It will be interesting to see where the new agent technology that we are now living in will take us!!!!

ARE HUMAN EMOTIONS CHANGING??

Lack of love and care. Old people residing in old age
homes instead living with their grown up children.

Change of human emotions. Earlier people used to take
care of each other but now nobody has time for others.

IMAGINING A FUTURE WORLD.

A WORLD FULL OF VEHICLES, SMOKE, DUST,
PEOPLE BUT A WORLD EMPTY WITH GREENERY.

COMPETITION FOR OCCUPYING SPACES.

When we will open our eyes tommorw, will we get to see a world like this? Yes, if like this the population increases then of course one day we will get to see all these. But there is saying that 'IF THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY'. So, I think if all of us become aware about the consequences then surely we can imagine all world of beauty and peace.

THE WAR OF INVENTIONS

THE 21ST CENTURY IS THE CENTURY OF THE INNOVATION AND INVENTIONS . WITH THE INCREASING POPULATION THE COMPETETION INCREASES.AND TO SURVIVE IN THIS DOGFIGHT EVERYDAY NEW INVENTIONS OR INNOVATIONS ARE BEING MADE.

IN THE COMING YEARS PEOPLE CAYYING OXYGEN CYLINDERS FOR OXYGEN WILL BECOME A COMMON SIGHT.

THE COMING YEARS WILL ALSO WITNESS NEW INVENTIONS LIKE THE WATER PILL . IF YOU ARE FEELING THIRSTY JUST POP THIS PILL IN YOUR MOUTH AND YOUR THIRST GOES !THEN WILL COME THE FOOD PILL AND THEN THE COMPLETE MEAL PILL.

INNOVATIONS SUCH AS CARS BEING ABLE TO FLY LIKE AEROPLANES WILL ALSO BECOME COMMON. THERES A HEAVY TRAFFIC AND YOU HAVE TO GET TO SCHOOL IN FIVE MINUTES:YOUR BUS SOARS INTO THE SKY AND YOU RAE IN SCHOOL JUST IN TIME.

THE 21ST WILL THUS GRADUALLY WITNESS ALL THESE INNOVATIONS AND INVENTIONS BECAUSE WITHOUT THESE LIFE ON EARTH IS SOON GOING TO BE IMPOSSIBLE.

THE GANGA ACTION PLAN PART IV

I HAD DISSUCUSSED THE TOPIC OF INDUSTRIES ON RELEASING UNTREATED WASTAGE INTO THE WATERS OF THE GANGA .

FOR EXAMPLE THE CITY OF KANPUR;

IT IS A SMALL CITY BY THE BANKS OF THE GANGA.IT HAS MORE THAN 5000 INDUSTRIES WHICH PRODUCE DIFFERENT ITEMS SUCH AS LEATHER PRODUCTS,CHEMICAL PAINTS,FANS MOTORS,BALL BEARINGS,ETC.

THESE INDUSTRIES RELEASE UNTREATED WASTAGE,LIKE CHEMICAL PAINTS OR HOT WATER IN THE RIVER.

HOT WATER IS CONSIDERED TO BE DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT ADVERSELY EFFECTS THE AQUATIC LIFE IN THE RIVER AS IT SUDDENLY CAUSES A RISE IN THE TEMPERATURE OF THE WATER.THIS DOES NOT ENABLE AQUATIC LIFE TO ADAPT QUICKLY AND MOST OF THE AQUATIC ANIMALS DIE DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO ADAPT QUICKLY.

CHEMICAL PAINTS OR REMAINS OF CHEMAICAL PAINTS TOO ARE DANGEROUS AS IT CHANGES THE COMPOSITION OF THE WATER.

ACTUALLY MOST INDUSTRIES CONTAMINATE THE ENVIRONMENT.

THE GANGA ACTION PLAN PART III

THE GANGA ACTION PLAN LAUNCHED IN 1985 WASNOT HUGELY SUCCESSFUL BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE STILL BATHED IN IT’S WATERS AND DID NOT STOP WASHING CLOTHES OR DEFECATING IN THE RIVER.TILL NOW IDOLS OF GODS AND GODDESSES ARE IMMERSED IN WATER.THIS IDOLS CONTAIN CHEMICAL PAINTS WHICH DISSOLVES IN THE WATER TO MAKE IT ACIDIC.PEOPLE DROWN OR SOMETIMES DEAD BODIES ARE THROWN IN THE WATER WHICH FURTHER POLLUTE THE RIVER.REMAINS OF DEAD ANIMALS TOO ARE THROWN IN THIS RIVER AND GARBAGE TOO IS THROWN HERE.

INDUSTRIES ALONG IT’S BANKS RELEASE UNTREATED WASTAGE OR SEWERAGE INTO IT.

THE GANGA ACTION PLAN PART II

THE GANGA ACTION PLAN WAS LAUNCHED IN 1985 IT AIMED TO REDUCE THE POLLUTION AND REVIVE THE RIVER. IT ALSO AIMED TO BRING BACK IT’S PAST GLORY. BUT, THIS PLAN WAS NOT HUGELY SUCCESSFUL BUT TO SOME EXTENT IT REDUCED POLLUTION IN THE RIVER.

HANDFUL OF RESOURCES.

Hey, we are all looking at how the population around is increasing. How people are occupying the spaces. But have we ever thought that what will happen to our future generations, how will they survive. We all think about ourselves. The world is filled up with people. People are using up all the resources without thinking that will these resources remain for their children tomorrow. They are just using the resources but giving back anything in return. People are polluting the rivers, air and soil, cutting trees, clearing up the forests. If they continue to do like this then what will remain for our future? Will we all one day have to live in the jungles of concrete?
THE NATURE OF HUMANS TODAY WILL DECIDE THE NATURE OF THE EARTH TOMORROW.

THE GANGA ACTION PLAN PART I

All of us know about the Ganga river which originates from the Gangotri Glacier.

Supposed to be one of the holiest rivers in the world and in India. the ganga originates from the Gangotri glacier in the Himalayas. and the places through which it flows is supposed to be holy too. Like Hrishikesh and Haridwar. People believe that a dip or a bath in it’s holy waters will once again make them pure.

Whenever someone goes to places like Haridwar and Hrishikesh they never forget to bring a bottle of Gangajal(holy water of the Ganga)back home with them.

A few drops of Gangajal is supposed to purify any object. but, because of people bathing, washing clothes, immersing idols, throwing dead remains of animals, etc. it has lost it’s past glory. In many areas it is dead.

Now,

What is a dead river?

When people start bathing, defecating, in the water gradually Algae starts growing on it’s surface and this Algae takes in oxygen dissolved in the water. Gradually due to lack of oxygen the aquatic animals starts to die then the algae too because there is then no oxygen left in the water. when this happens the river is declared DEAD

Population may help the population to survive.

We all believe that population is a curse on us because it increases competitions among ourselves. We think that if the population keeps on increasing like this, we will have to fight more to make our name and fame. We believe that population growth will only create bad effects for us. We believe that in future we will have to fight for land, water, food, and even for our dignity. This all will lead to inequality amongst us. These all thoughts keeps moving in our mind, but we never think that population may help the population to survive.

Population may lead to rise of inventions all over the world. If, people starts focusing towards new inventions rather than fighting among themselves, then in future, in the need of time, the future generation might be able to utilize those inventions to survive.

These inventions can be such as oxygen pill or artificial oxygen, city on space, artificial food that will keep us in a balanced diet, some source of new energy and our future generation might also be able to reside in some different planet outside earth.

If we fail to make these inventions than there is only one solution left for us that is “population control”. To control population we, the children of today’s world can take steps. We are the future for our future generations. So it’s time to get into action, so rise, awake, and take steps to control population.

The Ozone Hole Part III

Parts of The Spectrum

There are seven colors which consist of the spectrum. They are commonly known as

VIBGYOR

They stand for

i. Violet.

ii. Indigo.

iii. Blue.

iv. Green.

v. Yellow.

vi. Orange.

vii. Red.

But, there are two more colors. They are ultraviolet and Infrared. They come in the sequence that is as follows

UV VIBGYOR IR

They stand for

i. Ultraviolet Ray

ii. Violet

iii. Indigo

iv. Blue

v. Green

vi. Yellow

vii. Orange

viii. Red

ix. Infrared Ray

The Ozone Hole Part II

DID YOU KNOW THAT?

Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) is a Greenhouse Gas. It contributes to global warming and causes the ozone hole to enlarge. It is also a contributory factor of skin cancer.

But how can that be so?

Chlorofluorocarbon(CFC) is emitted by gadgets we use in our daily life and it causes the thinning of the ozone layer. It breaks down the ozone into two atoms +one atom of oxygen that is O2+O.

Actually ozone is scientifically known to have three atoms of oxygen that is O3.

When the ozone hole thins it is no longer able to protect us from the Ultraviolet Rays of the sun. And this Ultraviolet Rays will enter the earth and be absorbed by the carbon particles in the Earth’s atmosphere thereby bringing about a rise in global temperatures or these Ultraviolet Rays will cause skin cancer.

This rise in global temperatures is known as global warming.

So, the more Chlorofluorocarbon(CFC)used by more and more people will do more harm to the Earth.

PLAYING WITH EMOTIONS.

The emotions of a person is very necessary to know him, to know his feelings and to understand him. The emotions of people are very delicate so we have to be very careful while handling relationships. But nowadays totally opposite is happening with all of us. There are so many people on this world and every second a new baby is born. So, people in this world is increasing but the resources to supplement them is decreasing as well as space to reside in is also decreasing. So, all people are fighting with each other, killing each other to live and use the reources alone. Now, people donot understand the feelings of other people. All have limited time to think only about themselves.

Let me give you some examples-

1.Earlier, when somebody among a family falls ill then all the other members of the family help him, treat him with love and care, comes and visit him. But now nobody have time to look after his own parents and children. All are busy with their own works.

2.Nowadays there are so many old age homes here and there. Why? Because children don' t have enough time to look after their old parents.

We are not realising that we are going far apart from each other. We are losing the love and care that would worth more than million dollars. For a second wait and ask yourself.

The Ozone Hole.

All of us are familiar with the disease named cancer. when the cells of the body begins to grow haphazardly it causes tumors or lumps on our skin. many people die due to cancer. the number of deaths in developing countries due to cancer is much more than in developed countries. last week i had attended a seminar on cancer awareness. i learnt some interesting facts about skin cancer. it is caused by exposure to the ultraviolet rays of the sun. but, if these rays are harmful for us then surely something must obviously be protecting us or else all of us would have contracted skin cancer by now. but, we have not contracted skin cancer only because of the ozone layer surrounding the earth. scientifically ozone is known to have three atoms of oxygen that is O3.

The ozone layer protects us from the radiation of the ultraviolet rays of the sun.but, recently i heard about the term ozone hole.

ozone hole is caused because of the gadgets that we use, like refrigerators, television, aerosol sprays, computers, etc. that is because they use Chlorofluorocarbons or CFC's. these Chlorofluorocarbon gases float upwards towards the stratosphere and causes the thinning of the ozone layer. it breaks it up into two atoms+one atom of oxygen i.e O2+O. this thinning or hole in the stratosphere is harmful for us as it exposes us to the ultraviolet rays of the sun.

But Chlorofluorocarbon use is not decreasing. it is increasing along with the increasing population. in the process it is enlarging the hole in the ozone layer.

Some steps were taken by many countries . the Kyoto Protocol is one such step it aims to reduce emissions of Greenhouse Gases.

Problems I face as a child

I have heard a lot about overpopulation and I also heard that it’s a major problem in today’s world. But I never knew why this is a major problem until I started to look deeper into this problem.

As a child I face many problems. After exploring and thinking I found that all these problems are associated with my daily life.

As the day begins my first problem starts with the crowd in the school bus. I am sure that there will be more than 50 students in our bus. It’s so crowd that you can’t even stand in comfort and there is no possibility of getting seats to sit.

Now, the second problem I face is that in school assembly. There will be definitely more than 2000 students in our school. Each class has to stand in proper line, in a fixed place. And in between so many students of different classes, we all find it difficult to make out our class’s line and thus it gets mixed up, and the assembly starts late because of such crowd.

The third problem that I have to face is that after assembly. All the student of different classes goes in their respective lines to their respective classes. And in this process it takes a long time reach our own class. And on way to our class there is always a huge rush on stairs due to student of different classes moving all together. It’s very risky as someone may get hurt and even may fall down the stairs.

The fourth problem is that we face during our games period or recess time. The playground being so big is always crowded with children playing different games. And sometimes the seniors or the elder students than us forces us to leave the field so as they can play their games comfortably without any disturbance.

The fifth problem is with our school canteen. During recess time I sometimes eat food from canteen. We have to first pay and then we get our food. They find it difficult to face our needs because of huge rush. They can’t decide to take money from whom and to give food to whom. And thus takes a lot of time to provide us food.

The sixth problem is associated with shops. Nowadays the shopkeepers are facing difficulties to face the demands of customers. The goods are less where as customers are more. And this is resulting in price hike.

The biggest problem that we all face is on special occasions like Christmas, Diwali, Durga Puja etc.We can’t enjoy it in a proper and good way because of huge crowd. All the streets stays blocked in traffic jam. The busses will always be fully crowded and people keep hanging out of doors and windows of busses.

Saturday, February 5, 2011

ONE DAY THE EARTH WILL SPEAK.

So much crowd all around,
From a crowded bus to a crowded lane,
From arid areas to freezing cold places,
From backward villages to modern cities.
There are people anywhere, everywhere
So many people all around.
Every minute hundreds of people
are born in this Earth.
But every second, people fight for a
piece of land.
Every second, people struggle to get
the required resources.
Every second, people struggle to get
a healthy breathe of air.
People are overflowing the Earth
As water overflows a bucket.
The Earth holding the load of so many people
Is becoming heavier and larger
Will the Earth can hold the load?
Or will the Earth's backbone will break?
One day, when the Earth can no longer
control the pain,
It will speak........

Reasons Of Population Explotion

Now since we know what is population explotion , its aftermath as well as some of its reasons so lets move on further with our knowledge.

The world population has not been stable. Like for example in 1820, the world's population had reached 1 billion. A hundred and fifty years later, in the early 1970's the world's population had reached 3 billion. In 1999 , the population doubled to 6 billion. And now we can do the math that in 2050 the population would increase to 7.5 - 10.5 billion. If it goes on like this then in no time the world is going to shrink and human's would overwhelm from it.
Why is it so that the population is increasing????
The main reason for this is that with better food supplies and medicines, deaths are reducing, while the number of births still remains fairly high.
increase in birth rates due to medical improvement, decrease in death rates due to better medical facilities and improvement in the field of medicines, availability of health facilities,
Besides these . Migration is another reason which determines the size of the population in a place.
Therefore population can be stable if it is balanced....

THE KNOCKING EFFECTS.

Hey, do you know that the effects on our Earth and its natural resources due to the increase in our population is not simple at all. I have found some of the effects. The effects are very dangerous. The knocking effects are-

1. People are cutting forest trees and using that land to build houses, industries.
Land is becoming scarce.

2. Since people are using forest land. Therefore, it is effecting the animals, birds and other organisms of that nearby areas. Sometimes some animals like elephants enter into the towns in search of food. Birds also come to the cities in search of food.

3. More people means more need for natural resources like water, minerals and more agriculture to feed the population.

4. The population of people are increasing and the wastes produced from the houses are also incerasing. These wastes are pollluting the EARTH. These wastes also seems to be very dangerous for the animals and the ecosystem.

5.People are now fighting for water availability, for land and what not. Everybody wants to get more but the availability of resources to feed the people is less.
These are some of the knocking effects. I do hope that we will, and can reduce these effects and save ourselves as well as the nature.

POPULATION boom!!!!

Population a boon or a curse!!!

How can population be a curse to us? Many of us might think that. Well for some of us, increase in population can be a boon like Sudan, a country located in the African continent, has experienced a loss in population numbers due to emigration. But in countries like India population has increased to such an extent that it has led to population explosion thus exploding like a bomb kaboom!!! this has caused problems like less of adequate resources for each individual, malnutrition, poverty, unemployment etc. So,it is an intense problem and must be dealt wisely.

DECREASING SPACE.

Hey freinds, before saying something, let me ask you all one question. Have you ever realised admist a traffic jam or in a crowded bus that why there is so much vehicles, people, noises all around. Of course, you think how to get rid of these disturbances first.
All of us have realised that the world has changed a lot. The green fields, trees laden with fruits and flowers, clean rivers are all disappearing slowly. The spaces are filled up with houses, buildings and industries. And the population of human beings are increasing which is effecting our natural resources to a great extent. Because of our growing rate, all these weird things are happening on the Earth. Its a high time now to do something. So, we have to join hands and put our efforts together to reduce the human population as well as save our MOTHER EARTH.

Overpopulation

Population increase is a major problem now-a-days.It's leading to overpopulation.

Overpopulation is a condition where an organism's numbers exceed the carrying capacity of its habitat. The term often refers to the relationship between the human population and its environment, the Earth.Steve Jones, head of the biology department at University College London, has said, "Humans are 10,000 times more common than we should be, according to the rules of the animal kingdom, and we have agriculture to thank for that. Without farming, the world population would probably have reached half a million by now." The world’s population has significantly increased in the last 50 years, mainly due to medical advancements and substantial increases in agricultural productivity.

The overpopulation is causing a lot of problems, such as:

* Rising global temperature.
* Shrinking amount of cropland per person.
* Decline in amount of wheat and rice grown per person.
* Shrinking area of tropical moist forests.
* Decreasing oceanic fish harvest per person.
* Increasing number of people dying of AIDS.
* Declining human sperm count.
* Growing gap between rich and poor.

I want to show how population is increasing through this maps:

Map of countries by population density, per square kilometer.

Areas of high population densities, calculated in 1994.

Human population growth rate in percent, with the variables of births, deaths, immigration, and emigration - 2006
